Citizenship Won't Save You...

Dear Reader,
What happens when the Supreme Court makes a ruling… and the President refuses to follow it?
The Catalyst Perspective
Let’s be clear:
This is no longer politics as usual.
The Trump administration is openly defying the Supreme Court—again.
He recently deported a legally protected immigrant to El Salvador in direct violation of a court order. This man had legal status in the U.S. and was never to be returned to his home country, due to credible threats to his safety. The court said so. Trump did it anyway.
Now, he’s floating a new plan: Build more prisons in El Salvador, and send American citizens there.
He casually mentioned this to El Salvador’s president while discussing what to do with U.S. citizens who commit violent crimes. His words weren’t hypothetical; they were an authoritarian fantasy said out loud.
And the Supreme Court?
He’s daring them to stop him.
This is not about public safety. This is not about foreign policy. This is about raw power—unchecked, unchallenged, and unleashed.
If you think this only affects “other people,” you’re missing the point.
El Salvador’s mega-prison, CECOT
When constitutional protections start crumbling, none of us are safe. And women leaders, especially Black and Brown women, have always been the first to feel the tremors before the collapse.
This isn’t just political. It’s personal. It’s moral. And it’s a test of our collective courage.
The Power Move: Strategy + Perspective
Here’s the truth: authoritarianism is always gendered.
Women who speak up are dismissed.
Women who dissent are discredited.
Women who lead are punished.
So yes—fear is real. Speaking up as a woman in leadership has always come with risks.
But history isn’t shaped by those who waited to feel safe.
1 Leadership Workshop opening in May, and now booking for June
Looking to bring high-impact leadership training to your municipality, nonprofit, or organizational team?
My workshops are designed for leadership boards, departments, and mission-driven teams who want to lead with strategy, presence, and purpose—without burning out.
When a government defies its own laws, silence is complicity.
If you believe in women's leadership—and in democracy—this is your moment to show up.
Here’s what allyship looks like right now:
Speak up when women are dismissed, discredited, or disappeared.
Share this newsletter with a woman you know is ready to rise.
Use your platform to challenge abuse of power, no matter who it makes uncomfortable.
And now, there’s a growing movement for men who are ready to lead in partnership: Men For Equality is a new organization committed to uplifting and supporting women’s political leadership. Visit menforequality.org to learn how you can become an active ally.
Because the world doesn’t change when women whisper. It changes when everyone with a conscience roars.
